The Dukes Youth Theatre programme provides opportunity for young people to develop confidence, team work, communication and performance skills.  We also have Young Writers and Young Ambassadors programmes.

PLAY IN A WEEK

For Children aged 6 – 10

This fun filled week will help children develop their performance skills whilst building confidence and making new friends. Children will create their very own play that will be shared to family and friends on the Friday.

Fairy-tale Fun Monday 12 February –  Friday 16 February
Musketeer Mayhem Tuesday 29 May – Friday 1 June

Price: £100

Time: 10am – 4pm each day (With a sharing of work on the Friday at 4pm)

PLAYMAKERS A

Run by experienced theatre directors and workshop leaders.  Children in our Playmakers A group will learn basic performance skills whilst having lots and lots of fun.

Over three terms, children in our Playmakers B group will form a closely knit theatre team. Where they’ll learn new performance skills from leading directors and workshop leaders.

Junior Youth Theatre

JUNIOR YOUTH THEATRE 

Led by Dukes associate artists and physical theatre specialists, The Knotted Project. Participants will learn devising, storytelling, improvisation, character, playwriting and physical theatre to name just a few.

SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE

For young people interested in making new friends, and with a firm interest in the performing arts. Participants will work with a variety of play texts whilst being introduced to a variety of exciting performance styles. Participants have chance to perform in one of the Dukes three main performance spaces.

JUNIOR YOUNG ACTORS

Working with Dukes resident practitioner and professional actor Liam McCormick; the Junior Young Actors will team up with our Prime Time, over 55’s group to create a brand new, intergenerational project in 2018. This one of a kind programme is not to be missed.

Senior Young Actors Image

SENIOR YOUNG ACTORS

Our flagship group for actors and theatre makers needs no introduction.  Senior Young Actors will work on a variety of performance skills with resident Practitioner Liam McCormick and Associate Director Alex Summers before performing in a full production of a set text directed by a guest professional. A course for people with a strong interest in performance and theatre making.
