Here at The Dukes it is our aim to create and present great art which changes people’s lives for the better.

The Dukes is a registered charity
The Dukes is the only building-based professional producing theatre in Lancashire and has for many years received regular funding from Arts Council England, Lancaster City Council and Lancaster University.
More than 500,000 people have attended The Dukes promenade plays since 1987, making them the biggest walkabout theatre event in the UK
The Dukes has been an independent cinema since it opened in 1971.
 The Dukes Creative Learning Department is rated outstanding by Arts Council England
The Dukes has three theatre/cinema spaces including The Round, The Rake and Moor Space.
Since 2016, The Dukes have been running dementia friendly events as part of our A Life More Ordinary programme, a scheme produced by The Dukes which has been rolled out to 15 other venues across the UK.
