“Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires.”

When a distinguished general receives a startling prophecy from the Wayward Sisters on a moor, a murderous ambition is ignited between husband and wife as they seek to obtain absolute power.

Drawing on James I’s obsession with ‘Conjuration, Witchcraft and evil spirits’, Shakespeare’s gruesome classic stoked a fire dramatically felt in Lancaster months after its first performance during the trial of the Pendle Witches. Experience the arcane power of The Scottish Play brought to life in a fresh retelling by The Dukes’ Young Actors.

“I feel the Bard would have been highly impressed by The Dukes young people’s energetic, intelligent and passionate spectacle.” Lancashire Evening Post on Hamlet, 2013
