Charlie Chaplin’s first talkie and one of his many masterpieces. Chaplin takes two roles – Adenoid Hynkel, the cruel eader of Tomania, and a Jewish barber who gets caught up in a rebellion against Hynkel’s fascist regime.

The Great Dictator boldly satirised the rise of fascism in Europe before the U.S.’s official entry into World War II, and culminates in Chaplin’s iconic final monologue which calls for humanity and kindness to defeat hatred.
