An introduction to Clowning and Play with internationally renowned director John Wright.

Exploring the human conditions through theatre that is bigger than life.

The clown represents a vehicle or catalyst that facilitates the theatrical expression of the imagination, the clown is more than a character or a convention in the theatre. The clowning technique is not just about being funny, but can also aid improvisation skills, theatre-making and other styles of performance. This one day workshop is suitable for those wanting to experience clowning for the first time, or have encountered clown before but would like to explore the technique further.

John Wright has taught workshops all over the world and his book “Why is that so funny?” is a must buy for actors, directors, students and teachers. John was a founder member of the acclaimed theatre companies, Trestle and Told by an Idiot.

We are so lucky to have John come and visit us here at The Dukes delivering one of his renowned clowning workshops, for more details on John Wright visit www.thewrightschool.co.uk
